BYD Dahan EV Opens Pre-Sales from RMB 249,900

BYD’s Dahan EV flagship sedan has opened pre-sales in China from RMB 249,900, offering up to 1,008 km CLTC range, rear-wheel steering and air suspension.

BYD presented the Dahan EV at the 2026 Chengdu International Motor Show on 21 August and opened pre-sales for its new Dynasty-series flagship sedan. The car sits above the existing Han range and combines a large executive body with long-range electric power, high-output performance and a comfort-focused chassis.

An important pricing note: the Dahan EV is in pre-sale, not yet at its final market launch. BYD has announced official pre-sale prices, while the final manufacturer’s suggested retail prices and detailed delivery schedule have not yet been published. Buyers should therefore treat the figures below as preliminary China-market prices.

These prices apply to the Chinese pre-sale programme. They do not include international freight, export handling, destination taxes, registration or local homologation costs.

A new full-size Dynasty flagship

The Dahan measures 5,256 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,510 mm high, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. Those dimensions place it firmly in the full-size luxury-sedan class. BYD also reports a drag coefficient of 0.197, an unusually low figure for a car of this size.

The exterior continues BYD’s Dynasty design language with a wide illuminated front graphic, a low roofline and formal proportions. The launch palette includes Cloud Sea Beige, Mountain Green, Red Emperor Red and Galaxy Silver, plus several two-tone combinations.

Range, power and road performance

The two rear-wheel-drive versions are rated for up to 1,008 km under the CLTC test cycle. The all-wheel-drive flagship has an 880 km CLTC rating and is aimed at buyers who prioritise performance. Reported output is 370 kW for the rear-drive configuration, while the dual-motor version combines 200 kW at the front with 370 kW at the rear.

BYD quotes 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a 270 km/h maximum speed for the AWD model. Rear-wheel steering reduces the turning radius to a reported 4.95 metres, helping a 5.26-metre sedan manoeuvre in tighter city spaces.

Chassis, cabin and assistance features

  • YunNian-A dual-chamber air suspension: designed to combine ride comfort with more controlled body movement.
  • Rear-wheel steering: improves low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed stability.
  • Second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging: the main long-range and rapid-charging technology package.
  • God’s Eye B LiDAR driver assistance: provides the model’s camera, radar and LiDAR-based assistance suite.
  • Front dual zero-gravity seats: part of a cabin focused on long-distance comfort.
  • 31-speaker Devialet audio and smart dimming glass: premium equipment intended to reinforce the flagship positioning.

What international buyers should know

The Dahan EV has so far been announced for China. Export availability, market-specific equipment, charging-port specifications and certification have not been confirmed for every destination. The CLTC range figures are Chinese laboratory ratings and should not be compared directly with WLTP or EPA figures.

For import planning, the final vehicle price should be confirmed only after BYD publishes the official launch price and the required export specification is available. Freight, insurance, customs duties and destination registration remain separate from the China pre-sale price.
